The mayor may issue a letter to the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission recommending the issuance of a three-way liquor license as an incentive for restaurant attraction in the downtown Lakefront District eligible areas.
The recipient pays $1,000 per year for this special riverfront liquor license.
Over 50% of sales at the establishment must be in food. Unique dining experiences are preferred that are not currently available in the downtown area. Buildings within 200 feet of a church or school are not eligible to apply. The City Council has authorized the issuance of only 10 of these types of liquor licenses and 5 have been issued to date.
