Golf Cart Permit Application and Ordinance

The City of Hobart

Golf cart and recreational vehicle inspections and registrations will take place in or around the front of the Police Department or in the Maria Reiner parking lot, located at 705 East 4th Street, beginning April 30, 2022 on only Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am - 1 pm. When you arrive at the Hobart Police Department, inform the Clerk you are here for a golf cart inspection, AFTER the golf cart PASSES inspection and an Officer has signed the paperwork, you will take the paperwork back to the clerk, pay the $25.00 registration fee (cash or check made payable to Hobart Police Department), be issued a City of Hobart registration sticker which MUST BE AFFIXED ON THE REAR OF YOUR GOLF CART/ OFF-ROAD RECREATIONAL VEHICLE.

Upon inspection, the resident needs to have:

-Completed Registration Form

-Valid Driver’s License

-Proof of Insurance

-$25.00 fee (cash or check made payable to Hobart Police Department)

The sticker will not expire until April 1, 2023 and registration stickers WILL NOT BE PRO-RATED.

Officers WILL NOT be responding to residences for inspections, the golf cart/ off-road recreational vehicle must be inspected at the Hobart Police Department.
