Do I need to bring a lawyer to court?
You can represent yourself or hire an attorney to represent you. "Pro Se" parties (non-attorneys representing themselves) should be prepared to present their cases in a proper manner. It is not the Court's duty or responsibility to protect or represent you; instruct you on court procedure, evidence rules; or help to present and prove your case. It is each party's responsibility to seek counsel in a suit.
