City Dump Yard

The City Yard is available to all residents of the city for disposal of nonhazardous materials in accordance with city ordinances.

Dump Permits

Each resident is required to obtain a dump permit. Permits are available at the City Yard, for a fee of $25 and are sold bi-annually, payable by cash, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card. (3% convenience charge applied to all credit cards) The Dump Permits are valid January 1st through Jun 30th and July 1st through December 31st each year. You must live within the city limits to obtain a permit. Identification will be required to prove residency (current driver’s license). If you live elsewhere, but own property in Hobart, you are not eligible for a permit. Dump permits must be shown each time you use the city yard and residents may be required to present photo id upon request. It is against city ordinance to let anyone use your permit, or for you to use your permit to haul trash for someone else.
