Hobart Parks Department Programs

City Yoga Program
Yoga classes are held at the Hobart Community Center at 111 East Ridge Road.
The days and times are as follows:
Tuesdays 9:30am & 5:30pm
Thursdays 9:30am & 5:30pm
Classes are $5 per person and these classes are FREE for City of Hobart employees and their spouses. Children are also FREE when accompanied by an adult. (1 child per adult)
Arts in the Park
*UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO HOST THIS PROGRAM THIS YEAR*
The arts and crafts program is a fun, FREE program for children ages 4-12 years old. It’s an opportunity for children to participate in arts and craft activities during their summer vacation.
The days and times are as follows:
Mondays 11 - 2 p.m. in Festival Park
Tuesdays 11 - 2 p.m. at Silich Park
Wednesdays 11 - 2 p.m. at City Ball Park
Thursdays 11 - 2 p.m. at Arbor Lane Park
Fridays 11 - 2 p.m. at the Hobart Pool
Memorial Bricks Program
Memorial bricks are available for purchase through the Parks Department Office located at 111 East Old Ridge Road. These attractive personalized bricks are installed either in Lakefront Park along our beautiful Lake George or at the Doughboy Monument located at 7th and Lincoln Street (the bricks placed here will honor the veterans of our armed services).
The cost of the memorial bricks is $25 each. We do a spring order and a fall order during the year. If you would like to participate, please print the following form and return it to the parks department.
Memorial Bench Program
Memorial benches are available for purchase through the Parks Department Office. We offer benches as an opportunity to commemorate a loved one or memory. Please call the parks department for more information.
Memorial Tree Program
Memorial trees are available for purchase through the Parks Department Office. We offer a list of trees and locations as an opportunity to remember a loved one or memory. The cost is $300 which includes pick up and planting.

Adopt-A-Sign Program
The mission of the Adopt-A-Sign Program is to get community involvement in helping to keep our park signs beautiful and blooming, with native plants to encourage pollinators. The program is dependent on volunteers to adopt, plant, and maintain flowerbeds below designated park signs.

Adopt-A-Park Program
The mission of the Adopt-A-Park Program is to provide groups, organizations, churches, businesses, and individuals with opportunities to beautify, maintain, and improve their City of Hobart Parks. Contact the Parks Department Office at 219-942-2987 for more information on this program.
ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUES
Adult softball leagues are held on weekdays at Hillman Park 2555 W. Old Ridge Road
Softball leagues begin in June for Summer Session and unfortunately Fall Ball was cancelled for 2020

Adult Swim will be held everyday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. We are offering this hour to adults in order to enjoy a relaxing swim or laps before the pool is open to the public and children for the day.
